19 of the Russian's 21 championships have been earned on hard surfaces
A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial championship for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a torrid year, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.
Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in particular - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.
Now working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought competitive win over opponent Moutet.
This represents the player's maiden trophy after the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface since spring of 2023.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has won twenty-one championships at twenty-one various events.
"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my children together, so to secure a championship is particularly special," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my child my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six championship matches, comprising in that event previously this season.
The player's retrieving strategy and regular outbursts on the tennis court had caused some to question if his capacity to compete at the highest level was finished.
However the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and play positively, backed up by an enhanced serve.
Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, winning 4 of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players traded break points in the following set before the challenger, striving for his initial tour title, seized the initiative to push for a final set.
The opponent defended 4 early-game break points in a competitive final set before the Russian broke to 15 to secure the win.
Fittingly, Medvedev earned the win with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to control a shot after a lengthy match.
